Maybelline Eyestudio: Lasting drama gel eyeliner

I finally got the eyestudio gel eyeliner. It claims the product does not smudge and it's waterproof. I definitely think it's true. One of the great things about this product is that it comes with an awesome brush! I got this product in blackest black, but there are a few more colors to choose from. Here's a quick list of pros and cons!

Pros:
1- creamy and easy to apply. It's also very easy to build into an intense color.
2- comes with a great brush. applying the eyeliner is relatively simple and easy with this brush.
3- It's waterproof AND smudge proof! But it's also easy to take off with makeup remover.
4- It DOESN'T transfer to the bottom of my eyes, even if I cry.
5- the color is very rich.
6- Inexpensive for an awesome gel liner with a brush
7- With this brush, you can make thick and thin lines
8- easy to work with

Cons:
none I can think of yet.

Verdict? This is an awesome product. I'm giving it 5 out of 5 stars! I'm going to buy this product again as soon as I start to run out, or maybe when there's a huge sale I'll just stock up. One of the best gel eyeliner products out there. If you haven't given this product a try, what are you waiting for?

Revlon Photoready Review

I've been meaning to try this product for a while now, and finally got it when it was on sale. I have this foundation ins 002 Vanilla, and it's my perfect match! I've heard a lot of people claiming it made their skin look shimmery, but I haven't noticed it at all. Long story short, here's a list of pros and cons:

Pros:
1- It's my perfect match
2- It's very light on my skin. It doesn't look cakey at all.
3- Feels natural to the skin. Not too thick.
4- Comes in a nice pump design bottle, very convenient. It's very easy to get the amount you want.
5- No funny scent (like the smell from colorstay)
6- Medium to full coverage (it's buildable). I don't even need concealer after applying this. But at the same time it looks very clean and natural.
7- SPF 20. At first I thought this was funny, because isn't it supposed to be a foundation for photos? so why is there SPF? I applied it to my face and took a few flash pictures in a dimly light room and I was VERY disappointed. I looked very chalky and pale (this was expected). However, I applied the foundation evenly over my neck and it was fine. I looked completely normal. Not chalky and pale at all. But honestly, this foundation looks really good on my skin when I'm not taking pictures or maybe just taking pictures without the flash. So I guess this is a pro and a con.
8- Inexpensive. I would even get this product if it's not on sale.
9- Lasting power is great too. I was at a party all day, and it didn't even slip off or anything.
10- Comes in a variety of shades, huge range. You'll probably find your perfect shade without mixing.
11- Gives you a nice natural glow
12- I have an oily t-zone and this works fine.

Cons:
1- SPF 20. This is not makeup for clubbing I would say, maybe if you had a shade darker or something?

Verdict? I would definitely buy this again and recommend it to all my friends. If you're looking for a nice cheap drug store brand foundation, this is it. I would give this product 4.5 stars out of 5.

Review: Revlon Colorstay versus Maybelline SuperStay foundation

This review is on the two foundations Revlon Colorstay and Maybelline Superstay. I'm going to start with the Revlon product first.

Finding the color that matches me wasn't that difficult, because there are quite a few shades to choose from. I got the combination/oily skin in 150 buff, I chose this instead of the normal skin product, because my t-zone tends to get quite oily. Many other reviewers have said that this product dries way too quickly and doesn't give you enough time to blend. I haven't had much trouble with this, because I work from area to area instead. I would not recommend using a foundation brush, instead I used my fingers (which I found to be the most effective). This foundation gives really good coverage, I would say between medium to full. It's also very easy to build on this foundation without the cakey look. It pretty much stays on for the whole day and the color doesn't change on me, so the staying power is great. This stuff is also great for oily skin, because my normally oily nose would stay dry for a long time. However, it doesn't dry out my skin, which is a huge plus. My skin actually felt so light that I didn't even notice I had full coverage make up on. This product has made it's way onto my normal makeup routine because it makes my skin look so flawless! (or so I think...)

Although there are many great elements associated with this product, there are also some things that could be improved on. This foundation does not come with a pump! It could get quite messy during your rushy weekday mornings. I also found that a lot of product goes to waste. Another thing I don't really like about this foundation is that it has SPF, which means flash photography is a definite no-no. If I take pictures with this foundation on, my face would appear very white. Why? This is because light is reflected. So this foundation is not for parties or clubbing where flash photography is pretty much guaranteed. I'm also not a big fan of the smell of this product. There's a very strong paint smell that comes with this foundation, but I think it's something you can get used to.

Overall, I would definitely repurchase again. I'm giving this product 4/5 stars, I have to take off a few points for the poor packaging and the paint smell.

The next product I'm reviewing is the Maybelline SuperStay foundation. It claims to stay on for 24hours. I don't think I can evidence that claim, because I'm not going to wear it for 24hours.
PROS:
1) There are quite a few shades to choose from, so it's pretty easy to choose one that works.
2) It's very long lasting! I doubt it'll stay on for 24hours, but sometimes I have to wear it for around
16 hours, and it looks the same throughout the day. It doesn't fade or disappear at all.
3) It's super blendable! Even if the color you choose doesn't match your skin tone exactly, it's still
very workable.
4) Great coverage.
5) It feels light on my skin. It doesn't look cakey and doesn't feel like a mask.
6) Goes on smoothly.
7) Could be natural looking.
8) Affordable, it was around $10CDN

CON:
1) Doesn't come with a pump, tends to get messy.
2) Doesn't have oil control

Rating: 4/5

I don't know which I would pick between the two products, so I usually alternate between the two. I absolutely love the Revlon product because of it's oil control, but I love the Maybelline Superstay because it's so blendable. It's a difficult decision =D But I would just go with whichever one is on sale, if both works for you. Or if you don't have oily skin, then just go for the Maybelline product.

Review: Maybelline's waterproof liquid eyeliner

My first review will be on Maybelline's waterproof liquid eyeliner. I haven't used many liquid liners in the past, but I think this one is definitely one of the best drug store liners out there! Even when there's no more product left, the brush is still functional. The brush isn't tricky at all, it's pretty easy to draw a nice line. It goes on really smoothly, and you can make your lines thin or thick. I don't think this eyeliner smudges, but some people have claimed it does. Or maybe I just haven't been noticing it. From my experience, it doesn't crack or flake off at all. It stays on pretty much for the whole day, so the staying power is great. I got this eyeliner in black, and the color is pretty dark. It doesn't come out gray or any other weird colors. It's dark enough for my liking. I tend to cry a lot in movies, and this eyeliner hasn't failed me yet.
I'm not sure how well this product goes on my bottom lash line, because I only put it on the top of my lids. In terms of getting it off, I think it's a piece of cake. Some people have complained about how hard it is to get waterproof makeup off, but with this liner all you really need is makeup remover and it comes off easily. Most of the time I would use Maybelline's moisturizing eye makeup remover (for waterproof eye makeup) and then L'oreal's skin genesis pore minimizing gel cleaner to remove my makeup. I will do a review on those in the near future.
Overall, I really like this eyeliner, I think the price is pretty good too. Most of the time it's about $8-$10CDN. I don't think I'll be buying other liners for a while, since I'm extremely satisfied with this one. I'm on my second bottle already, and I'm definitely going to repurchase once I run out. I would give this product 4.5/5 stars, because nothing is really THAT perfect (although this product is pretty close to it).
